What is TEAP and what is it for?
TEAP (Test of English for Academic Purposes) is the most widely used English proficiency exam in postgraduate studies in Brazil, due to the fact that it is an exam with national and international dimensions, in addition to assessing reading and understanding of academic texts in English, which are skills commonly required in postgraduate courses.
The TEAP consists of 3 texts in English and has 30 questions: 10 for each of the texts. The answers to the essay questions must be written in the candidate's native language (Portuguese or Spanish). Candidates have 120 minutes (2h) to complete the 30 objective questions, i.e., the candidate will have 40 minutes to dedicate to each of the texts and their 10 questions, to complete the exam.
